Legal guarantee – EU notice: Minimum two-year legal guarantee of conformity for goods sold in the European Union. Consumers can exercise their rights under the legal guarantee, for example if the goods do not match their description or do not work as intended. Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity that existed at the time of delivery and becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. In such cases sellers must offer free repair or free replacement, or in certain cases a price reduction or a full refund. In some countries a longer period applies; for second-hand goods a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year. What to do if you receive non-conforming goods? 1. Report the problem to the seller as soon as possible. 2. Provide proof of purchase, such as the receipt, invoice or bank statement. More information: europa.eu/youreurope/guarantees
